The Renaissance Hotel was built in 1922 and was originally referred to as, “Hotel Mount Dora.” Then, during the 1980’s and 90’s it was abandoned. Kids would sneak in to drink and have parties. They called it “Quincy Market” from the sign on the concrete façade just below the roofline. The Renaissance would have been renamed Quincy Market but the owner never finished the renovation.
